2008 Vegas PGA Expo Post #1

Unfortunately I’m posting from a crappy computer with a dysfunctional spacebar.  The press room doesn’t have an open wireless or wired internet connection and Mandalay Bay is asking for $500 to hook my laptop up to wireless.
I’d love to be posting tons of pictures and videos from the show, but I can only do that if MY [...]

Gatorade Tiger lacks in the flavor department

It is around 100 degrees here. When it gets that hot I can’t just drink water on the course. If I only drink water I end up with what the Greeks call “evil eye.” Evil eye is a mind splitting headache centered in my right eyeball. It hurts so bad and [...]

Olympic Women’s Beach Volleyball

I’m enjoying the Olympic Women’s beach volleyball golf (Freuding typo) gold metal match between the USA and China.
The USA is up one set to none so far.
What is making it even more “interesting” is that the match is being played in the rain. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m off for some private time. [...]

Bogey Lounge back on the map?

One of the original and great all time golf blogs is my pal Spiro’s Bogey Lounge.  With the birth of Spiro’s first child and the responsibilities that go with it (I know), the Lounge started to sputter.

Talkin’ smack & backin’ it up

In my round with my dad yesterday I came to the par-3 13th hole at +2.  My ball striking, especially my irons, had been pretty good.  I guess practicing a bunch of 5-irons on the range helped that day.
On the tee of this 155 yard hole I announced “I haven’t had a hole in one [...]

Balls on a wire

Today was my usual Thursday grudge match. We played a different course which wasn’t in our normal rotation. They’d “added” black tees, but essentially the black tees are the same as the old blues. On a couple of holes they extended the tees back on the par-5s. I guess they’re trying [...]

Luke Donald joins Tiger on the living room couch for the rest of the year

Luke Donald hurt his left wrist in the U.S. Open.  He’s now going under the knife and he’ll be joining Tiger Woods on the injured list for the remainder of 2008.  That means no Ryder Cup for him.
It could be worse for Luke.  Assuming he’s right handed, he can still paint.
